In this post I am going to tell you about SSC CGL Time Management. In exams such as SSC CGL Tier I Time Management is the key to success.
As you all know that SSC CGL Tier I Exam is very near now. However in such exams apart from preparation, strategy is also very important. How you are going to approach the paper is equally important as good preparation.
I am sure many of you must have alreay planned but I will try to help you out by suggesting proper timelines.
Try to stick to these timelines, you may make some variations depending upon your preparation for each section. However broad timelines should remain the same.
In the earlier days candidates used to get few extra minutes as collection of papers took some time. However in an online exam 60 minutes means 60 minutes.
If you plan and follow the time management tips you will surely qualify the first hurdle i.e. Tier I exam.
Here is a quick review of the exam pattern.
you can see that there are 100 questions which are required to be solved in only 60 minutes. It means that you have 36 seconds for each question. But actually you have only 30 seconds to solve the question because 5-6 seconds you will require to read the question.
Good thing is that you are not having sectional time limits. It means you can allocate your time to any section as per your choice. You can surely save some of your time by skipping a few questions. As you know that there is negative marking of 0.50 marks in Tier I therefore do not make blind guess and leave the questions for which you have no clue.
SSC CGL Time Management Techniques
General Intelligence & Reasoning: The level of reasoning in SSC Exams generally remains simple. Therefore you should devote a maximum of 15 minutes of time towards this section. Try to attempt all questions with 80-90% accuracy. However do not make blind guess.
General Awareness: I have already told you about how to score high marks in this section. In my view you should not give more than 10 minutes towards this section. You can also solve this section in less than 10 minutes however upper limit should be not more than 10 minutes.
Quantitative Aptitude: This is the most time consuming section and you should give your maximum time towards this section. In my view 20 minutes are good enough to solve this section. Since this is math, your accuracy should be 100%.
English Language: This section you need to solve in a maximum of 15 minutes. If you are good in English you can solve this section in about 12 minutes but let us keep 15 minutes as upper limit.
Now let us talk about the order of sections. In my view first you should solve General Awareness in 10 minutes, then English in 15 minutes, then go for resoning in 15 minutes and attempt QA in the last in 20 minutes. If you can manage to save 2-3 minutes in the end you can come back and try to attempt remaining questions. For general candidates any score around 70 correct questions should be a safe score. Do not make blind guess at all, it will spoil your chances. I am sure these SSC CGL Time Management Techniques will surely help you.
