In this post I am going to tell you about SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern and how to prepare for this exam. In SBI Clerk Mains Exam there will be 4 sections which are as under: –
SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern
- General / Financial Awareness: In this section there will be 50 questions of 50 marks and time allotted is 35 minutes. There will be questions on current affairs such as news on banking industry, awards and honours, books and authors, latest appointments, new schemes of central and state governments, sports, important current events of national and international importance, persons and places in the news etc. There will also be a few questions on static GK such as country and capitals, currency, headquarters of financial organizations, GK about India and world etc. Apart from it there will also be questions on Banking and Financial Awareness. Out of 50 questions 30 to 35 questions will be from current affairs, 4-5 questions will be from static GK and 10-12 questions will be from Banking and financial awareness. Difficulty level remains moderate.
- General English: In this section there will be 40 questions of 40 marks and time allotted is 35 minutes. In this section the questions will be on Reading comprehension including Synonyms and Antonyms, Sentence rearrangement or Para jumbles, Sentence Correction/ Error Finding, Spell Checks, Fillers, Cloze Test, idioms etc. Difficulty level remains easy to moderate.
- Quantitative Aptitude: In this section there will be 50 questions of 50 marks and allotted time is 45 minutes. There will be questions on Number Series, Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Time & Distance, Work, Partnership, Profit and loss, simple and compound interest, ratio and proportion, average, percentage etc. Best way for preparation is from RS Agarwal Book which covers entire syllabus and is best book for this section. Difficulty level of this section normally remains moderate to difficult.
- Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: There will be 50 questions of 60 marks and allotted time will be 45 minutes. This is most important paper as for 50 questions marks allotted are 60 which are highest compare to any other section. Difficulty level remains moderate to difficult.
Therefore, you can see that there will be a total of 190 questions of 200 marks and total time duration is 2 hours 40 minutes. Please remember that each section has specified time limit. So this is a brief about SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern, now let us discuss a few other points.
SBI Clerk Mains Cut Off
Cut off remains different in different states. However, range of cut off remains from 85 to 103. Cut off varies based on the number of students appearing and level of competition in a particular state. Last year lowest cut off was 85 which was in Assam and highest was 102.75 which was in Punjab.
Key to Success
If you really wish to qualify this exam the key to success lies in speed and accuracy. To qualify this exam, you need not only speed but accuracy as well. Your accuracy should be 85-90%. Also take care of 1/4th negative marking and do not make blind guess at all.
Level of Competition
Level of competition is obviously high now as now you are competing with students who have already qualified for prelims. Therefore, you must prepare very hard to qualify this exam.
