IB ACIO exam is conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs. In this post I am going to tell you about the latest detailed IB ACIO Exam Pattern as well as section wise syllabus of this exam.
IB ACIO Exam is conducted for recruitment of Assistant Central Intelligence Officers in Intelligence Bureau. This is a popular examination of MHA and normally conducted every year. Now-a-days most of the exams are conducted through online mode. However IB ACIO exam will be conducted through offline mode.
It is very vital for the students to have a good knowledge of the exam pattern as well as syllabus of the exam. It will help you to remain comfortable during the exam as there will not be any confusion. Further, a good knowledge of exam pattern as well as of syllabus will help you in good preparation of the exam. It also helps you to solve the paper quickly. Here is detailed pattern of IB ACIO Examination. After the pattern there is section wise syllabus.
The exam will be conducted in 2 tiers i.e. Tier I and Tier II and after that there will be interview.
IB ACIO Exam Pattern – Tier I
The Tier I will be an objective type multiple choice question paper. There will be 4 sections of 25 questions each in the Tier I. The four sections are General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical / analytical ability and English Language. There will be 25 questions each in the 4 sections. In all there will be 100 questions. The marks will be 100 and time limit will be 60 minutes. The question paper will be available in both English as well as in the Hindi language except English language test.
Question: How is the level of questions asked in the IB ACIO Examination?
Answer: Based on the analysis of the previous year’s papers of the IB ACIO, it has been observed that the level and nature of questions of all 4 sections are very much similar to that of SSC exams. The pattern of questions of Reasoning, QA, GK and English is very much similar to SSC exams. The difficulty level of questions of GK remains moderate / difficult. Rest of the sections remains of easy / moderate difficulty level.
IB ACIO Exam Pattern – Tier II
In Tier II there will be a Descriptive Test. The descriptive test will also be conducted offline where the candidate has to write an essay carrying 30 marks and English comprehension and Precis Writing of 20 marks. The duration of descriptive test will be 60 minutes.
IB ACIO Exam Pattern – Interview
Finally there will be an interview of 100 marks.
Other Important Instructions:
- There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
- No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
- Only those candidates would be called for Tier-II exam who come up to a certain standard in Tier-I. For Tier-II examination, there will be a minimum cut off marks of 33%.
- On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be short listed for the interview.
